Respond from the Heart. In every situation that we encounter, we have the option to respond from the heart or react from the hurt. When we react from fear that stems from the wounds we have suffered, everyone is negatively affected. When the focus becomes the highest good, the response is from that inner voice that speaks to the heart and allows us to respond with love and peace. The choice is simple, yet it is not easy to release the hurt in order to respond from the heart.

From where I sit, I seek to respond from the heart and release the hurt.

As It Should Be. Wherever we are in our lot in life, we are supposed to be here. Every choice that we have made, every path we have taken or not taken, every encounter, and every relationship have created our current situation. Whether we are acting from our wounds or from our heart, everything is as it should be. Our thoughts, words, and actions have created a cumulative effect and bring us directly to where we are. Embrace it. Change it if you so desire. Most importantly, accept it.

From where I sit, everything is as it should be.

You Are Never Alone. Even when we feel like we have been abandoned by those we love, or we’ve been excluded by society, we are never alone. Within each of us is an energy source – whatever you choose to call it – that keeps us moving. Even when things seem to be their darkest, we can look within us and know that we are never alone. We are connected to source, which connects us to each other as well.

From where I sit, I connect with the energy within me and all is well.

Take Your Own Path. It’s important that we stop following other people. Your task is to find your inner Self and listen to it. Other people may provide some guidance, yet the path you are meant to follow is your own. Listen to that still, small voice within you that will guide you to your path. It is there. You are worthy of the joy and peace that you will find on that path. Trust yourself! Take your own path!

From where I sit, I chart my own destiny to follow my path.

Limiting Thoughts. When we listen to the opinions of those outside of us who are quick to find fault with what we do, we allow them to control us. They offer us limiting thoughts and limiting beliefs about our relationship to our Creator and sow seeds of fear. We hear messages of lack, doubt, and disconnection. That is not reality. When we limit ourselves, we limit our abilities to fulfill our call. Remove the limiting thoughts. Listen to that still, small voice. Connect with it. Let it move you forward into peace and joy.

From where I sit, I listen and move forward into peace and joy.

Seeing the Good. Although it may seem hard to accept, there is good in everything and everyone. In a world filled with chaos and turmoil, emotions can run high and create a cesspool of anger, distrust, and hate. This is not what we were born to be. We were born with an innocent spirit that was connected to the energy of good. Love is our innate nature. Hate is taught. Our focus must return to seeing the good, even in the darkest of situations or in the face of others spewing hate.

From where I sit, I focus on seeing the good.

The Bottom Line. Businesses and investors are always concerned about the financial bottom line. Families and their budgets rely on them as well. The bottom line is not just dealing with money. The bottom line is the foundation of every transaction and interaction that occur in our lives. It is that ultimate outcome. If we approach every moment of the day from the standpoint of love and choosing the good in every situation, Society’s bottom line would move from the material to the interpersonal. Businesses would see success move from a focus on money to community building. Communities would grow from the superficial to the inclusive. Families would thrive on love.

From where I sit, my bottom line is focused on finding the good in every situation.

Reaching out while reaching in. Developing the ability to show empathy and compassion begins in childhood. Even babies can tune in to the emotions of the person holding them. As they grow, they are exposed to more opportunities to be empathetic and will develop that ability if we teach them to find it within themselves. We can continue to foster that ability in ourselves, as well. It requires that we reach down into ourselves and tap into the Divine Love that is our true nature. Reaching inward allows us to reach out to a world that is in dire need of compassion to heal the scars of division.

From where I sit, I reach in to Divine Love and reach out with compassion.

Looking within. If we spend all of our time looking for fulfillment from something outside of ourselves, we miss the mark. The answers to happiness, peace, and joy come from within us, but our egos are unwilling to allow us time to seek those answers. Pushing aside the ego can be a difficult task. The ego tells us that we are the job that we do, the amount of money that we make, our status in the community, etc. In reality, we are the still, small voice of God within us. Taking the time to get quiet and look within will let us hear that still, small voice of love which opens the doors to happiness, peace, and joy.

From where I sit, I get quiet and look within.
