May 3, 2021 – Alignment

Daily Thoughts

5/3/21

Alignment. We’ve all been in a vehicle that has a wheel that is not quite in alignment, or we’ve gotten the shopping cart with the wonky wheel. Both of these situations create discomfort and desire for change. When we are spiritually and emotionally out of alignment, we are experiencing a level of discomfort and desire for change. It’s at times like these, that we need to take time for quiet and bring balance to the inner conflicts that will then bring our external reality into alignment with our life purpose.

From where I sit, I seek alignment with my Creator and bring harmony into my life.

May 2, 2021 – Accepting Ourselves

Daily Thoughts

5/2/21

Accepting Ourselves. Many of us struggle with self-image and self-esteem. We look in the mirror and see the flaws. We look at our lives and wonder who would want to spend their lives with us. The only way we can truly attract those into our lives that we desire is through accepting ourselves and realizing that we are loved and lovable. Our Creator doesn’t see our flaws, so why should we? If we can look at ourselves through the eyes of God, all we would see is love.

From where I sit, I change my focus from my eyes to God’s and accept myself as He sees me.

May 1, 2021 – Refraining from Judgment

Daily Thoughts

5/1/21

Refraining from Judgment. We live in a world where judgment is a part of daily life. We are critical of others, and we are critical of ourselves. Passing judgment blocks our ability to truly see ourselves and others. It obstructs the vision of love that is within each of us. Refraining from judgment opens the door to communication and peace.

From where I sit, I will make a conscious effort to refrain from judgment. Will you join me?

April 30, 2021 – Contemplating Your Navel

Daily Thoughts

4/30/21

Contemplating Your Navel. My father had a saying that he did not like to “contemplate his naval”, which meant that he did not like to do much of the way of self-examination. His was a generation when men didn’t do that, but we have since learned that it is important to look inside and embrace our strengths and accept our weaknesses. We have also learned the importance of building up our strengths, which also helps to counteract the limitations that might be there. Contemplation is necessary if we are to grow.

From where I sit, I look within so that I may become the best version of myself possible.

April 29, 2021 – Self-Regulation

Daily Thoughts

4/29/21

Self-Regulation. The underlying process of personal growth is self-regulation. Being able to not only be aware of, but also being able to express our emotions in a healthy manner is the cornerstone of self-regulation. Without self-regulation, we may move into self-medication to deal with unprocessed grief, fear, or anger. Meditation/contemplation provides the mechanism through which we can become aware of our emotions and learn to express them in healthy manner.

From where I sit, I contemplate my life and process the grief, fear, and anger that are a part of living.

April 28, 2021 – Through the Eyes of Love

Daily Thoughts

4/28/21

Through the Eyes of Love. In every situation that we encounter, we have the option to look through eyes of fear or eyes of love. Even in the harshest of situations, there is the choice to see love. The shift from focusing on the negative to seeing the beauty in the event dramatically changes our energy, which, in turn, changes our bodies. That change in energy influences and impacts the people around us. Put on your “love colored glasses” and see how your perspective changes.

From where I sit, I view the world through the eyes of love and see beauty in everything.

April 27, 2021 – Walking in Love

Daily Thoughts

4/27/21

Walking in Love. As we awaken every morning and get out of bed, we have the choice to face the day with a sense of love for self and others or to face it with fear of what might happen that day. When we make the choice to put the smile of love on our faces, it not only changes our outlook, but it also directly impacts those around us. Sharing kindness releases endorphins within the receiver, the giver, and whoever might be the witness to the kindness. How different this world will be when we make the choice to walk in love!

From where I sit, I choose to walk in the light of love!

April 26, 2021 – Belief

Daily Thoughts

4/26/21

Belief. Many of us have the belief that we are just a speck in the blip of the universe. We believe that everything happens outside of us and we have little to no control over what the circumstances are. Many others of us hold the belief that we have power of choice and power to change the world around us. Which camp do you fall in?

From where I sit, I take on the responsibility to choose my actions and change my world.

April 25, 2021 – Speak up!

Daily Thoughts

4/25/21

Speak Up! Each of us has a voice that needs to be exercised on a daily basis. There are atrocities occurring all around us. There are people who are lonely and needing encouragement. There are times that we need help for ourselves as well. In the face of all of this, we need to share the voice of love that comes from within us. When we see the hurt and loneliness, we must speak up. One we are struggling with their own inner conflicts, we must speak up. We are not meant to live our lives disconnected. We must use our voices to help those need and to ask for help when we need ourselves.

From where I sit, I will offer help to those in need and ask for it when I am in need.

April 24, 2021 – Set Your Course

Daily Thoughts

4/24/21

Set Your Course. Many of us flit from one task to another without a true destination in mind. There is a place for spontaneity, yet true success comes from setting a goal – a destination – for where you want to see yourself at some point in time. If you are setting out on a journey and haven’t decided on the route you want to take, you may eventually reach your destination, but it will take longer to reach it. Each morning, decide upon your goals for the day. Set your course. Envision the achievement of the goal. And get started.

From where I said, I take the time every morning to set my course for the day.
